The Barton Group and Tubman Dressage proudly presents Barton VDL, a stallion whose proven ability to sire successful offspring, exceptional competition record, and remarkable lineage make him a standout in the dressage world. Born in 2016, this dark bay Oldenburg stallion stands 1.72 meters tall and embodies the culmination of generations of thoughtful breeding. Approved by the Oldenburg Verband, Barton VDL has already established himself as a powerhouse in both breeding and the arena, with offspring demonstrating his hallmark traits of athleticism, balance, and trainability.
Barton VDL’s lineage is a masterclass in selective breeding, showcasing the influence of dressage legends. His sire, Bordeaux, is a KWPN stallion renowned for his Grand Prix career with Isabel Freese and later Akane Kuroki. Beyond his own accomplishments, Bordeaux has cemented his legacy through over 25 approved sons and countless successful competition horses, including the notable stallions Ferdeaux and Barroso. Bordeaux’s bloodlines carry the influence of United, Gribaldi, and Donnerhall—icons of the dressage world known for their brilliance in competition and as sires.
On his dam’s side, Barton inherits the exceptional genetics of Honigbluete, a mare with a proven track record of producing top-tier offspring, including the Mecklenburg-approved stallion Don du Ciel and the Prix St. Georges competitor Heide Spirit. His lineage also features Sir Donnerhall I, a leading sire whose influence is seen in dressage arenas worldwide, and Rubinstein I, one of the most significant contributors to modern dressage breeding.
